MYTH: EVs are unsafe.
FACT: EVs actually have a very low rollover risk (& great test scores!) due to the battery providing a low center of gravity.
MYTH: EVs aren’t greener than gas powered cars.
FACT: EVs are 3x more efficient & improve air quality by contributing zero tailpipe emissions. Also, over 90% of EV battery material is able to be recycled.
MYTH: There is not enough charging infrastructure.
FACT: There are currently 771 EV charging stations in Ohio and they’re increasing.
Under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program, under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), Ohio will receive over 100 million dollars across the next five years for Direct Current (DC) Fast chargers to be installed along designated Alternative Fuel Corridors. This funding will improve access to EV charging for all in our state! Read more about the program on DriveOhio’s Website.
MYTH: EVs take too long to charge.
FACT: The average EV can charge from 30% to 80% in approximately 25 minutes, depending on what level of charging you’re using and your battery state of charge.
