Clean Fuels Ohio (CFO) is excited to announce the hiring of new associates to the team! As our projects and programs develop, we identified a need to increase capacity.

Rachel Baker joined the team in September of 2021 as a Program Assistant in the Business Development and Communications department. After a competitive search process, Rachel arose as the top candidate to fill our open Events and Communications Manager position. Rachel graduated with a Master of Environment and Natural Resources degree from The Ohio State University with studies focused on environmental policy and dynamics of social-ecological systems. During her tenure as a Program Assistant, Rachel developed posters and other informational materials, tracked and reported social media metrics, developed the monthly newsletter, and updating the CFO website, positioning her well to transition into the new role. Between 2020-2021 Rachel served as an AmeriCorps member for a nonprofit, Friends of Moran, that supports a state park in Washington. With the title of “interpretive naturalist” Rachel helped friends of Moran develop a newsletter, establish and expand a social media presence, maintain their website, work with media outlets to publicize events, and lead a variety of educational and volunteer programs. Rachel’s education and previous work experiences have helped her become a skilled environmental communicator who is comfortable working with diverse teams to advance collective goals and solutions. “We’re thrilled Rachel was able to join the team and look forward the growth of CFO’s Events and Communication program,” said Megan Stein, Interim Co-CEO for Clean Fuels Ohio.

Abigail Spracklen was brought on-board to support CFO’s growing Consulting Services Program. We were pleased to bring Abigail on full-time with the addition of new consulting projects in 2022. Abigail graduated with a BA in Environment, Economy, Development, Sustainability (EEDS), with a Sustainable Business Specialization. Abigail had previously worked at She Grows It: Sustainability Consulting, where she managed a team of nine interns, organized a White Paper Project, analyzed data and performed research. All of Abigail’s previous experience positioned her well to support CFO’s Consulting Program. Abigail holds a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification as well as a Expected ISSP (International Society of Sustainable Professionals) certification. Abigail also spent time as a member of the RenewOSU program, aiming to implement more sustainable programs, especially those involving renewable energy. “Abigail has proven to be a fast learner, detail oriented, self-motivated and organized and we’re so excited for her to help support the growth of our Consulting Services Program,” said Megan Stein, Interim Co-CEO for Clean Fuels Ohio.
