Transportation Energy Partners’ Drive Clean Rural USA project is bringing together rural government leaders, business owners, fleet managers, farmers, and industry experts to break down barriers and accelerate rural communities’ access to clean fuel transportation solutions. Learn about federal resources available to help rural communities save money, reduce air pollution, meet decarbonization goals, and enhance economic development by transitioning fleets to American made alternative fuels and vehicles. Ken Brown, TEP’s executive director, will lead a discussion on:

1. Funding opportunities made possible by the recently signed bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, including:
– The new $5 billion EPA Clean School Bus Program, which will prioritize rural and other underserved communities.
– $2.5 billion in DOT competitive grants to install electric charging and other alternative fueling infrastructure, which will prioritize rural and other underserved communities.
– $3.75 billion in Federal Transit Administration competitive grants for Buses and Bus Facilities, which will now have a 15 percent set-aside for rural communities and a 25 percent minimum target for clean fuel buses.

2. How your community can get ready to access current and planned federal incentives for transitioning fleets to biodiesel, propane, natural gas, electric, and hydrogen.

3. How one rural fleet has cut fuel and maintenance costs and reduced air pollution by transitioning to cleaner, US fuels.
