With COVID restrictions lifting all over the country, industry events are back in full force. Clean Fuels Ohio is happy to be a partner of important industry leaders to bring innovative, educational content and engaging networking opportunities to fleets and other implementers. This Spring, we have partnered with the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) and the National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) to provide discounted opportunities to our members and stakeholders to attend several conferences.
For the first time in two years, NTEA’s Work Truck Week® 2022 was held in-person at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN from March 8-11. The largest expo and tradeshow for the work truck industry boasted an attendance of 12,696 industry professionals. While this attendance was down 7% from its last in-person convening in 2020, the event’s full-day Green Truck Summit which focused on clean energy trends for commercial vehicles had 835 attendees, a record attendance that rose more than 58% compared to 2020. This increased focused on clean transportation technologies and fuels was present throughout the event, as showcases and presentations on EVs and charging were ubiquitous throughout the expo hall and sessions, with new EVs and charging hardware unveiled by the likes of Ford, Ram, Chevrolet, Lion Electric, SEA Electric, The Shyft Group, and Morgan Truck Body.
Said Steve Carey, NTEA President & CEO, about the event’s return to the Indiana Convention Center in 2022, “Work Truck Week has always been the commercial vehicle industry hub, but this year felt extra special in light of everything we have been through since March 2020. People were excited to be together, shake hands, share ideas and explore the latest trucks, equipment and technology. In many ways, it delivered the sense of normalcy that our industry needed.” You can read more about Work Truck Week® 2022 here.
On April 11-13, Clean Fuels Ohio will also be at the NAFA Institute and Expo (I&E) at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in downtown Columbus. The NAFA I&E is an industry event staple and this year it’s coming to our own backyard. The I&E attracts fleets of all kinds from government and utility, to public safety, education, and corporate, and many others. This year, attendees will have access to over 40 educational sessions. Several sessions cover guidance on preparing fleets for adopting and deploying EVs. Attendees will also hear from the engaging keynote speakers NAFA has lined up this year. Scott Welle, Mike Pitcher, Dave Caperton, and Joe DeLoss will be at the show ready to share their experiences with attendees.
NAFA has extended a $100 discount offering to Clean Fuels Ohio members this year. If you are a member, reach out to our Development Director, Rachel Ellenberger, at [email protected] to redeem your discount code.
Clean Fuels Ohio has a booth at the show this year so be sure you add booth #1938 to your show planner. Several Clean Fuels Ohio members will be exhibiting on the show floor as well including: Blink Charging, Electrada, General Motors, Ingevity, Lordstown Motors, Sawatch Labs, and SemaConnect.
Not only will we and our members be active on the show floor, we are also hosting an event on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 7:30-8:30 AM ET called “Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure: Planning and Funding for Fleets and Site Hosts”. We will present on considerations and procedures for local and regional Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) infrastructure planning, including considerations for fleet adoption, potential infrastructure site hosts, and equitable distribution of charging stations to spur the adoption of electric vehicles among individual motorists and fleets. CFO will end with a discussion on funding opportunities available for fleets and municipalities to support the installation and maintenance of EVSE. You can register for the event here.
As more events get underway this year, Clean Fuels Ohio will keep members and stakeholders in the loop about what opportunities to engage look like and how you and your team can benefit from attending industry events.
