BQ 9000 and Fuel Quality

BQ-9000 certification is a classification for both biodiesel producers as well as fuel marketers signifying the utmost quality biodiesel fuel. According to the National Biodiesel Board, an BQ-9000 accredited distributor is:

An entity engaged in the business of the distribution and sale of biodiesel and/or biodiesel blends of B2 or greater that has successfully met the accreditation criteria is awarded the status of Accredited Producer.

BQ-9000 accreditation gives distributors an important distinction in that they have completed several rigorous steps to ensure a quality product. Ohio biodiesel distributors that are BQ-9000 certified include:

Peter Cremer North America

Becoming BQ-9000 Certified

There are many important reasons to become a BQ-9000 certified fuel markter including the assurance of quality biodiesel fuel, avoiding redundant testing throughout the distribution process, and to serve consumers looking for biodiesel which meets industry standards.

Fueling Equipment

While no special fueling equipment is required to distribute biodiesel (as opposed to regular diesel), it is vitally important that you begin with clean equipment that is up to standard before introducing biodiesel into your fueling infrastructure. The following methods will ensure your current diesel system is ready to go for biodiesel. More information on these procedures can be found in the Biodiesel Handling and Use Guildelines below.

To ensure proper tank cleaning, Clean Fuels Ohio highly recommends you hire a tank cleaning company to handle your current infrastucture. This will likely result in timely cleaning while saving you the frustration of a possibly daunting task. Please call around to find the right price for you.
